I feel the need to start with this statement so I’m 10000% clear. This has nothing to do with any personal feelings towards any individual. My motto has been for the last decade+: ingredients speak for themselves; they just need a voice. I am that voice. I cannot sit by silently and not address this glaring disregard for transparency, truth, accuracy in labeling which are all pillars of my career as a blogger and I hold deeply close to my heart. I’ve called numerous companies out for much less than what I’m going to share below.
This is not a company I ever expected to put on my Not Recommended List. But this is an excellent example of how the values, formulas and ethics of an individual can all change overnight. It’s an example of us as consumers needing to keep our eyes wide open at all times. To never become complacent in trusting that a company has OUR best interests in mind. As someone who has dedicated over a decade on educating myself and consumers to read labels and hold companies accountable for discrepancies, this is certainly an easy example of why we need to stay vigilant.
It was recently brought to my attention that Farmacology, a company that formerly offered CBD products made with organic ingredients, advertised it is bringing back products from the past. However, if you look at the ingredients: 1: they are they NOT organic. 2: The post re-introducing a particular product touts it as having 350mg of pure CBD, yet the ingredient label lists hemp extract and no CBD… What?! They are completely different substances. So how is this a bring-back? And how is it okay to use terms such as CBD and hemp interchangeably? It’s not.

Here is a pic of the former product that is allegedly being “brought back”

And with that, my comments were deleted and I was blocked from the page…. Did someone say censorship?
Also, now the site is selling “hemp” gummies.

Several of the personal care products also include “hemp extract”. Not hemp oil, not CBD, but hemp extract. My personal opinion is each & every product is incredibly suspect to not being properly labeled.
Why does this matter? SO many reasons! Hemp oil (and/or extract) and CBD oil are completely different substances:
Hemp oil, also known as hemp seed oil, is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant. These seeds do not contain cannabinoids like CBD, which means hemp oil does not have the same therapeutic benefits associated with CBD oil. Instead, hemp seed oil is often used for its nutritional value, as it’s rich in omega fatty acids and antioxidants. Source
If you go to the Farmacology website and check the Ingredients tab, you’ll find NO mention of CBD, but there is one for hemp extract. Again, they have very different properties and as a consumer, it should be clear if your $99-$175 for gummies is for CBD, or hemp extract. Additional points of contention:
–There are state and federal regulatory requirements around CBD sales.
–Changing ingredient names at your discretion to get around Facebook censorship is wrong on every level.
–People might have sensitives, allergies, or personal preferences for selecting or avoiding one. We all have the right to know exactly what is in a product.
–Products with conventional ingredients vs organic should cost a lot less.
–Ethically, I just can’t fathom how any company thinks their consumers aren’t going to either notice, or care, about the above issues.
I’ve rarely seen an example of such blatant disregard for honesty, transparency, truth, integrity in my decade plus of label-reading. I’ve filed formal complaints with multiple agencies, and until further action is taken by them (if that even happens), on behalf of consumers I will not be able to sleep at night until I share my opinion on this matter. Reminder that we all vote with our dollars, and we DO have a voice. Asking questions and demanding answers when something is glaringly, obviously wrong, is an easy step we can all take to hold companies accountable for their actions. See something, say something.
To see what companies are out there making great, safe, organic products, see my Approved and So-So lists from the Personal Care tab up above.

UPDATE 10/8/25: this response tells me everything I need to know, and sounds very, very similar to the responses I’ve had from other companies who I’ve called out in the past. They all do the same thing: try to shift blame (calling others bullies, etc). Any business owner who responds like this to the above concerns and states they don’t care how it makes them appear is not a business I will ever support, nor encourage others to. Again, we have choices. Our purchases are a vote of confidence and support. I DO care how my choices make me appear. I hope you’ll agree my actions speak as loud as my words. And you have come to count on my words being genuine and honest. That is something I will never compromise.

This brand will remain on my NOT recommended list the actions and responses to genuine concerns have been met with a lack of integrity. That is not something to be overlooked.
